One of the most discussed topics related to nutrition is our everyday breakfast and the way we should have it for a healthy life. But what do we understand by breakfast?
Breakfast is the meal that you eat right after you wake up. No matter if you wake up between 6:00 and 8:00 AM like the most people worldwide or at 1:00 PM in the afternoon.
The most important factor related to a healthy breakfast is…not to skip it. Lots of people complain about the lack of time for making & having breakfast, the main reason being the morning activities that take up all of their time. What they don’t realize is that once you skip it, your whole day is messed up in regard to eating. It’s very important to provide your body with nutrients the moment you wake up because there are lots of metabolic processes during night sleep. Also, by skipping breakfast, you’re gonna be very hungry at lunch time, which will probably determine you to make poor meal choices, that will also span to dinner.
The simplest advice that you hear everywhere is to allocate 30 extra minutes in the morning for breakfast activities. But I said I won’t deliver bullshit advice to you. So I’ll tell you what I’m doing other than waking up half an hour earlier – which I don’t. I always have something blended for breakfst – smoothie, shake or whatever. All you need is a blender. It takes up 5 minutes of your time for preparation and the kickass thing about it is that you can take it with you and drink it on your way to work. Also, in this way, you can have a controlled meal, balanced in nutrients and calories. You can choose and make an exact recipe in just a few minutes. It’s a great alternative also for people who say they can’t have solid food in the morning. I usually rotate 3-4 recipes in one week and it’s easy to do that since they have some ingredients in common so there’s not so much to buy in the first place.
